Le Rayon Vert perfume
Jules Verne's 1882 novel Le Rayon-Vert (The Green Ray) popularized the elusive green flash, a rare meteorological phenomenon where a brief, emerald light appears just as the sun sinks below the horizon at sunset, or rises above the earth at dawn. Sunlight is dispersed through the atmosphere like a prism, revealing a flash of green. Verne described the green flash as “A green which no artist could ever obtain on his palette, a green of which neither the varied tints of vegetation nor the shades of the most limpid sea could ever produce the like! If there is a green in Paradise, it cannot be but of this shade, which most surely is the true green of Hope.”
Le Rayon Vert is a meditation on the brilliance of green, balancing earthy green notes with opulent nuances.
